Austenitics
These steels combine high corrosion resistance and excellent machinability and are used mainly in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, hospital, chemical, petrochemical, pulp and paper, and machinery and equipment industries.
Conducive to corrosion, nautical vessels also deserve attention. Villares Metals created the ACQUAMAR 22 steel to be used in propeller shafts of boats and ships.
Villares Metals also has a line of Austenitic stainless steels with easier machinability – the USIFAC line. In addition to the traditional 303, it also has versions of the traditional 304 and 316 but with improved machinability, through the addition of Sulphur and other controls in the melt shop. You can identify a Villares Metals austenitic stainless steel when it has the suffix UF in its name
