Villares Metals is a Brazilian company specialized in services and solutions in special steels and alloys. Headquartered in Sumaré, São Paulo, we have been developing high-performance products and services since 1944 for the Automotive, Railway, Energy, Capital Goods, Medical, Oil and Gas, Aerospace, Agricultural, and other sectors, both in Brazil and worldwide.

Our strategic presence in the main metal-mechanical hubs of Brazil, through our Service & Solutions Centers, allows us to meet the diverse needs of our customers and partners. What sets us apart is our vast technical experience, flexibility, and ability to develop customized solutions for the unique challenges of each client. Since 2007, we have been part of the High Performance Metals division of the voestalpine Group, headquartered in Linz, Austria, reinforcing our position as a global reference in special steels and alloys.

1944

Aços Villares S.A. is founded in São Caetano do Sul – SP
1961

Eletrometal is founded
Anos 80

Aços Villares begins establishing branches and sales offices throughout Brazil
1989

Aços Villares opens a sales office in Europe, now known as Villares Metals International, in Dordrecht, Netherlands
Anos 90

Branch operations begin to be closed to centralize activities at the Distribution Center unit in São Caetano do Sul – SP, nowadays called Service & Solutions Centers
1992

The company is certified with ISO 9001
1996

Aços Villares takes over Eletrometal, becoming Villares Metals S.A., and transfers its production to Sumaré – SP. The Distribution Center is moved to a small warehouse located in São Paulo – SP
2000

The Spanish group Sidenor acquires 52% of Aços Villares shares and takes control of Villares Metals. The Distribution Center in São Paulo moves to Sumaré – SP
2004

Böhler-Uddeholm group acquires Villares Metals
2007

voestalpine group acquires the Böhler-Uddeholm AG and creates the High Performance Metals division and Villares Metals receives the ISO 14001 certification
2008

The first unit of the Heat Treatment Service Center (HTSC) is inaugurated in Sumaré – SP, integrated into the Service & Solutions Center (S&SC), formerly named Distribution Center
2011

Inauguration of the first CSu0026amp;S branch in Joinville – SC
2014

The S&SC branch in Vespasiano – MG is inaugurated and a new Heat Treatment Service Center is integrated into Joinville’s S&SC unit
2015

Inauguration of the new Raw Material area in Sumaré’s facilities
2016

Launch of the Cultural Transformation Plan and VM3 methodology (Villares Metals Manufacturing Model)
2017

Villares Metals International moves to Rotterdam, Netherlands, where is located the largest seaport in Europe
2018

The company invests in a robotic cell for machining Railway Axles
2019

Believing in Brazil’s growth and aligned with its capillarity strategy, the fourth unit of the S&SC is inaugurated inFlores da Cunha
2020

Expansion of the Service Centers in Sumaré – SP and Joinville – SC. The company receives ISO 5001 certification
2021

Villares Metals becomes ISO 45001 certified and receives the AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) certification from Brazilian Customs
2022

The Circular Economy program is relaunched with a new name, Liga Verde
2024

Celebration of Villares Metals’ 80th anniversary with the inauguration of its sixth ESR, and the return of the ADC Villares Metals street run, which brought together over one thousand people in a 100% factory-based route in Sumaré’s facilities
